Before trouble shooting make sure all audio options and volume levels are correct in the game options.
If you are playing on PC, please ensure the audio device you are using is set to the default input and output device in your system settings before launching Bleeding Edge.
Voice chat and audio settings can be found in the audio and social tabs within the options menu.
- Navigate to Options
- Move to Audio
- Make sure voice chat volume is up:
- Push RB and move to the Social Tab.
- Make sure the follow settings are set to Auto Join
- Try toggling all above settings to OFF and then back to Auto Join
NOTE: This can be done mid-game, if successful this will resolve the issue immediately.
On Windows 10
- To let apps access the microphone, select the Start button, and then select Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
- Turn on "Allow apps to access your microphone."
- After allowing access to the microphone, you can choose which apps can access these features under "Choose which apps can access your microphone."
If the microphone volume is too low, try the following solutions:
- Make sure that the microphone or headset is connected correctly to your computer.
- Make sure that the microphone is positioned correctly.
- Increase the volume of your microphone. Here's how to do this in Windows 10:
- Select the Start button, and then select Settings > System > Sound.
- Under Input, ensure your microphone is selected under Choose your input device, then select Device Properties.
- On the Levels tab of the Microphone Properties window, adjust the Microphone and/or Microphone Boost sliders as needed, then click OK.
- You can then speak into your microphone and check under Test your microphone to make sure Windows is hearing you.
- Select the Start button, and then select Settings > System > Sound.
On Xbox One
Make sure your friends are not muted by checking their icons in your party, if you are using the Xbox Live party system you can find more information on the Xbox Support page.
Before continuing, make sure your microphone/headset is functioning properly and connected to the game. You can trouble shoot your Xbox One headset by following the steps on the Xbox support page.
If you are experiencing issues connecting with other players over Xbox live, you could be encountering problems relating to network address translation (NAT).
For the best online experience make sure your NAT Type is open, you can check this on your Xbox One console by completing the following steps:
- Open the guide by pressing the Xbox button in the centre of your controller.
- Scroll right through the guide to the System area
- Select Settings.
- Select Network.
- Select Network Settings.
- Select Test NAT Type
